Vintage Embroidered Imperial Linens

Madeira Cocktail Napkins

"Partridge in a Pear Tree"

Item Number N71008

Amazing, embroidered vintage linen cocktail napkins depict a famous Christmas song, "A Partridge in a Pear Tree" and were likely the work of a fine Madeira embroidery house like Jabara Brothers or Imperial Linens.  These hand embroidery firms were rivals of Marghab Linens, widely known for a similar pattern to this one, called "Jacaranda Tree"...companies in Madeira competed for the same market and at times even used the same embroideresses.  Three of the pieces have minor fraying threads on the edge, shown below. These are some of the most amazing and intricate embroidered linens that Madeira had to offer and this rare pattern is sought after and highly collectable. The linen is crisp and white and in excellent condition, as shown, freshly laundered and pressed.  c.1950's  8.5" X 5.5"
