Antique Swiss Embroidered Sheer Cotton

Wedding Hanky, "Helen" c.1840's - 1880's

Item Number H45810

Seriously, ladies!  Does this not inspire you to name your firstborn female child, "Helen"? Do it!

Delicate (but not fragile!) antique hand embroidered wedding hanky, likely of Swiss origin, is executed on finest creamy white cotton muslin.  The hand made Valenciennes lace may have been added at a later period but adds significantly to the softness and femininity of the piece.  The featured moniker, "Helen" is perfectly embroidered in one corner -- magnificent!...definitely collectable, and if your name is Helen, well, how can you resist?? Superb condition for it's age, with just one tiny hole, shown below. Freshly and lovingly laundered and pressed.  c.1840's - 80's   13" including  Valenciennes lace
