           Antique Copper Monogram

            Stencils, German

 Item Number C30507

Antique copper monogram stencils in entwined script lettering were used to mark linen prior to monogramming.  The stencil was placed in position atop the piece to be embroidered and a moistened blue powdered ink was brushed or dabbed over the monogram to mark the fabric.  The blue powder can often be seen on old pieces that have not been laundered.  It disappears reliably with modern laundry soaps.  These stencils are in excellent condition and are offered as found.  None of these have been used.  c. 1880's - 1920's  1.75" X 2.25"-- outside edge of stencil

When ordering, please indicate the item number along with the monogram letters.
